Towards the end of last nights game between the Colorado Avalanche and the San Jose Sharks, Nathan MacKinnon was making his way through the neutral zone when Sharks forward Joachim Blichfeld came up behind him and appears to have caught him up high, forcing MacKinnon to leave the game.
Blichfeld was ejected for the hit and will have a hearing with the player safety department today.

You never like to see one of the Leagues best talents leave a game like that but thankfully Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said after the game that MacKinnon appears to be doing good and they may have gotten lucky.
Update: Blichfeld was suspended 2 games for the hit.
