Watch: Nathan MacKinnon Drops Gloves With Kevin Labanc After Bad Hit on Teammate

It’s not everyday in the NHL that you see superstars fighting, usually a team will have guys that do that for them. Not the case for Nathan MacKinnon though.

During the third period of Friday nights game between the Colorado Avalanche and the San Jose Sharks, Sharks forward Kevin Labanc delivers a nasty hit to avalanche defenseman Samuel Girard. Nathan MacKinnon took exception to the hit and engaged Labanc.

Once both men finally got freed up from the dogpile that ensued following the hit, the fight started. MacKinnon was able to land a quick uppercut and overhand right while Labanc got in a shot or two of his own. It wasn’t a super long fight, but it’s always cool to see a superstar drop them once in a while.
