Things got heated towards of the end of the Maple Leafs vs Oilers game Monday night, which the Leafs ended up winning 3-0.
Oilers goalie Mike Smith came in to start the second period after his partner Mikko Koskinen was pulled for allowing 3 goals on just 10 shots, two of which came on the first two shots of the game.
Smith played great in relief and gave his team a chance to get back in the game stopping all 13 shots he faced. But once it was evident his team didn’t have the steam to mount a comeback his frustration started to boil over.
Zach Hyman is seen driving to the net and out of nowhere Mike Smith flails back as if he was run into which if you watch the video it’s clear he was not. In response Mike Smith in a fit of rage goes after a completely random Leafs player that wasn’t even the one who drove passed the net.
An Oscar worthy performance, no doubt.
