The New Jersey Devils defeated the Boston Bruins 1-0 Sunday night in large part due to a stellar 40 save shutout by Mackenzie Blackwood.
It seemed as if Blackwood was just in the zone, playing some of the best hockey of his career. In the dying seconds of the third period with the Bruins net empty attempting to even up the game is when Blackwood made his potential save of the year candidate.
Mackenzie stretches across the crease in a splits formation and just gets his toe on the puck before it crosses the line, some argue it was a goal but it’s clear you can not see the puck cross the goal line entirely. What a save.
Check it out.
