Alex Edler Suspended Two Games For Dirty Knee On Zach Hyman

Monday night the Leafs took on the Vancouver Canucks who were playing in their first game in three weeks.

Near the 10 minute mark of the second period Zach Hyman had the puck along the boards and was trying to make a play into the offensive zone when Vancouver Canucks defenseman who has a history of dirty knee on knee hits stuck his leg out on Hyman and injured him. Hyman did not return to the game.

The Knee that Edler stuck his leg out to hit on Hyman was the same knee Hyman needed surgery on to repair his ACL in 2019.

NHL’s player safety department announced Monday afternoon that Edler has been suspended for two games.
