Trade Talk Picking Up Around Canucks Forward

The Vancouver Canucks continue to be the most active team in the North Division when it comes to trade talks. The Canucks were said to be working on a deal that would send Jake Virtanen to the Anaheim Ducks but the deal fell through, both teams could not get the numbers to work.

New reports out of Vancouver indicate the club is aggressively putting Canucks forward Tanner Pearson’s name out there trying to gauge what teams would be willing to offer in return.

In 114 games with the Vancouver Canucks Pearson has recorded 35 goals, 31 assists for 66 points. He is fresh off a season in which he had 45 points in just 69 games (nice). He is in the final year of the deal he signed with the Los Angeles Kings that carries a cap hit of $3,750,000, a very manageable contract that is sure to catch the attention of teams around the league.

It is said that the Canucks will be looking for futures in return for Pearson. This would make the Toronto Maple Leafs a potential trade partner, the Leafs have a wealth of prospects and picks they could use to get the deal done and as we reported the Leafs are in the market for a forward.
