Toronto Maple Leafs looking to move a Defenseman

The Leafs have one too many defencemen, and they have seemingly let it be known that they are looking to move one of them.

This according to Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman who said:

“I think they’ve kind of let it be known that one of their D who plays on the right side could be available. I would suspect that’s potentially Dermott but I don’t know if they’ve actually identified the player”

All speculation leads to Travis Dermott being the odd man out, he has been a solid third pairing defenceman for the Leafs, but that is all he will be for them, and they can afford to move on from him to improve other areas of their roster.

Recently, the Leafs promoted Dermott to the top pairing alongside Morgan Rielly, in what was a potential showcase spot.

Friedman would further go on to say that he does not think it’s Justin Holl. Which only increases the odds of the odd man out being Dermott.

Keep your eyes peeled, a move could go down any moment.
