The Jack Eichel Era is coming to an end, after 6 long and losing seasons with the Buffalo Sabres Jack Eichel has all but confirmed he and the team will be working on a way to get him out of town.
Jack met with Buffalo media today and had some newsworthy things to say. When asked about where he and the team are at, Eichel answered:
“I’ve got to do what’s best for me and they’ve got to do what’s best for them. … There’s a lot to process. … I’m sure these conversations will be had and things will go from there.”
Eichel went on to say how he is not on good terms with the Sabres management and did not like the way the club handled his season ending neck injury. At one point essentially suggesting that the team did not originally allow him to have surgery to repair his injured neck.
Jack Eichel essentially says the Sabres wouldn’t let him have surgery on his herniated disk in his neck.
His body, his choice?
“It doesn’t work like that. I wish. … I’m under contract with this team and they definitely hold a lot of cards on what I can and can’t do.”

And with that, it is safe to say that there is nothing to salvage here and both the player and the team will look to move on in the off season.
Teams said to be very interested are the LA Kings, New York Rangers and surprisingly the Calgary Flames. Where do you think Eichel will land? Let us know in the comments.
