Interesting turn of events in the Evander Kane ordeal going on in San Jose right now.
It appears that the 30 year old forward has been suspended without pay and his cap hit no longer counts against the San Jose Sharks cap.
We've been informed that Evander Kane's $7M cap hit currently does not count against the San Jose #SJSharks salary cap
With this update the team now has $8M in cap space with a roster size of 22 (13F – 7D – 2G)https://t.co/F9gOkMu5S3

This is pending the results of the NHL’s investigation into Kanes abuse allegations.
Further more, sportsnets Nick Kypreos pointed out that he belives the NHL is leaning towards suspending Evander Kane under Section 18A of the Standard Player’s contract. That’s “Commissioner Discipline for Off-Ice Conduct.”
It’s sounds like the @NHL is leaning towards suspending @SanJoseSharks Kane under supplementary discipline ( 18- 18A of the CBA. After serving his set amount of games it’s likely he’ll be clear to resume his career. @FAN590
