Well, it’s certainly not the outcome most Senators fans saw coming when the team signed Stanley Cup champion Matt Murray to a 4 year $25,000,000 contract back in 2020.
Last year, in 29 games with the club, Murray had a less than stellar 0.893 save percentage and 3.38 goals against average.
This season, not much has changed, well, besides his save percentage getting worse. (.890).
Now it appears the Senators have run out of patience with what they hoped would be their new franchise goaltender, as the club is expected to place him on Waivers this afternoon.
We will see what happens tomorrow, but it appears as if Ottawa will be putting Matt Murray on waivers. He was scratched today vs Anaheim.

Provide no team picks him up, which is unlikely due to his contract and poor play, Murray will report to the AHL to find his game.
