Following being eliminated by the Montreal Canadiens Monday night in what was a 4-0 sweep, there has been a lot of noise coming out of the Winnipeg Jets front office.
Many are frustrated with the team’s inability to adapt, score first or even win a game against a team that barely snuck into the post-season. The Jets had the semi-finals handed to them on a silver platter and were once again unable to get the job done.
Paul Maurice who has been at the head of the Jets bench for 8 seasons now while only making it out of the first round twice is now on the hot seat.
Sources say that the Jets front office are going to let the disappointment of an early exit from the playoffs subside before they make their decision official, but they have already begun the process of looking into potential replacements to take over the bench next season.
Jets swept aside with ease by the Montreal Canadiens. The question for GM Kevin Cheveldayoff and owner Mark Chipman is has head coach Paul Maurice taken this team as far as he can? If the answer is the Jets will not get any better under Maurice then it’s time for a change. pic.twitter.com/BLUKIKuAqN
