Well well well, despite Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini giving Benning his vote of confidence earlier in the season it seems that Benning may be on his way out of Vancouver.
According to Matthew Sekeres on the Sekeres and Price podcast, sources have told him that they believe Benning will not be back next season. As they put it:
“Benning is no longer sellable to a large portion of this fan base”

Benning was given a three-year contract extension in August of 2019 since then he took a promising team that made it to the second round of the playoffs and completely dismantled it in the off-season by not re-signing key players.
Unclear currently if the Canucks have anyone in mind to put in the position, but the Benning era in Vancouver seems to be coming to an end sooner than later.
