Rumor: Islanders Looking At Devils Kyle Palmieri

With news coming out of long island that New York Islanders captain Anders Lee will now miss the remainder of the season with the club, they find themselves in position where they now have $7m of cap space they can spend on a rental.

According @NHLRumorsDaily who is a known insider with great sources, Lou Lamorello is a big believer of “next man up” but could possibly make an exception for a player like Kyle Palmieri who he has familiarity with.

Kyle Palmieri is in the final year of his deal that carries a $4,650,000 cap hit which would leave the Islanders with room to add if they need to. Last season Palmieri had an impressive 45 points in just 65 games with the devils and currently has 12 points in 25 games this season.

News of possible interest from the Islanders in Kyle Palmieri comes from the source who broke the Boychuk news.

Keep your eyes peeled Islander fans, the Islanders now have cap space to make a move and it’s looking like they intend to use it sooner rather than alter.
