After taking a crosscheck in the side from winger A.J. Greer, Podkolzin took exception to Boston’s rough play and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Both players got in some punches but took a few lumps themselves. After going down, a bloodied Podkolzin slowly left the ice and did not return to play the rest of the game. On his way to the penalty box, Greer pumped up the attending fans, giving TD Garden a new energy.
