A shocking move to say the least, this season Shayne Gostisbehere has 11 points in 25 games but its clear the Flyers haven’t liked is game. Gostisbehere is in year four of his six year contract he signed with the Flyers back in 2017 that carries an AAV of $4,500,000.
$4,500,000 is a lot of money for any team to add to their roster, it would be interesting to see whether Gostisbehere gets claimed or not.
There is talk around the league that this move was done to make room for an incoming player from a potential trade, keep your eyes peeled.
#Flyers appear to be trying to free cap space to make a major deal.

#Flyers were still in on Ekholm and a couple of the #Preds forwards last time I checked, but that was days ago… vibe I’m getting right now is that Fletcher is close on something (nothing specific yet) and wants the cap space in case a deal comes to fruition within next 48hrs
