Trade: Senators Acquire Ryan Dzingel from Carolina Hurricanes

We reported earlier today that the Ottawa Senators would be sellers at the NHL trade deadline, well it looks like they are getting an early Start.

The Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes have completed a trade that includes three players.

To Ottawa:

  • Ryan Dzingel

To Carolina:

  • Alex Galchenyuk
  • Cedric Paquette

If you’ll recall Dzingel was originally traded by the Senators to the Blue Jackets in a deal that saw the Senators receive Anthony Duclair and a second-round pick before he landed in Carolina.

Ryan Dzingel has 343 NHL games under his belt with 171 points to show for it, he is a top six capable forward that will make an excellent addition to the Ottawa Senators who lack top six players.

Cedric Paquette is coming off a Stanley Cup victory with the Tampa Bay Lightning but is having a rough start to the year with the Senators only recording one goal in nine games, a change of scenery will do him well.

As for Alex Galchenyuk, this will be sixth NHL team in the last four years, he too has only one point this year with the Senators.
