Oliver Ekman-Larsson is not willing to be traded

In a recent article by David Pagnotta, it was made clear that the Vancouver Canucks would like to trade D Oliver Ekman-Larsson, in order to clear some cap space.

The 31-year-old is signed until the 2026-2027 season at $8.25M. While Vancouver would like a team to take on his big contract, his play has definitely not been worth the high AAV.

Additionally, Pagnotta announced that the defenceman is unwilling to waive his No-Move Clause, which is required in order to facilitate a trade

OEL was acquired by Vancouver from the Coyotes in July of 2021, along with F Conor Garland in exchange for Antoine Roussel, Jay Beagle, Loui Eriksson, a first, second and seventh-round pick. Arizona retained 12% of Ekman-Larsson’s salary.
