It’s been a while since forward Nic Petan has seen game action with the Leafs, that changes tonight as Sheldon Keefe continues to make changes to his fourth line.
The fourth line for the leafs has looked different almost every game, everyone on the Leafs taxi squad is getting a chance to play and contribute.
Sheldon Keefe confirms Nic Petan will play tonight, continuing #Leafs rotations: “I think it is working. We are providing more opportunity to more players. We think that’s healthy for the depth of our organization, to let players know there’s lots of reasons to continue to work.”

Petan, a once highly touted prospect who dominated the world juniors a few years back has had a rough NHL career with just 37 points over 129 NHL games, he’s never seemed to catch his stride in the NHL and at 25 years old his chances may become few and far between.
Last season Petan played 16 games for the Leafs big club with only 3 assists to show for it in 16 games however he seemed to dominate at the AHL level putting together 31 points in only 25 games with the Marlies.
If you know of Petans story you can’t help but root for him. Here is hoping he can make the best of his opportunity this time.
