Well that was fast! Just two days ago we reported that the Nashville Predators will be sellers if this season doesn’t turn around. It now looks like ownership has grown tired of waiting for the ship to right itself and are going to make some changes in the coming months.
Earlier today on SN650 Chris Johnston said he has heard Mattias Ekholm’s name out there being shopped around.
Chris Johnston says on SN650 that he has heard Mattias Ekholm’s name out there and that he thinks Nashville could potentially move him. Nashville will likely be one of the biggest sellers this year.

One team who has expressed interest is the Pittsburgh Penguins, a team with new management that could use the help on the blue line but so far that is in the early stages of discussion.
Ekholm is 30 years old and in the final two years of his deal that carries a 3.75m cap hit. Many teams are going to be interested in the Predators blueliner, he is a true top 4 defenceman on what is a very manageable deal.
In 550 career NHL games Ekholm has recored 199 points, outstanding numbers for a blueliner.
