Montreal Canadiens Hit With Tough Injury News

The Montreal Canadiens announced Monday afternoon that defenseman Ben Chiarot underwent surgery to repair a fractured hand and will miss about 8 weeks.

Chiarot suffered his hand injury on March 10th against the Vancouver Canucks. Chiarot was having a pretty decent season for the habs, he logged the third most minutes on the blueline for the team only playing less than Shea Weber and Jeff Petry. So this news is anything but ideal.

On a brighter note the minutes he was taking will need to go elsewhere and it is likely that Alexander Romanov will see more minutes for the next 8 weeks.

Get well soon, Ben!
