In a shocking turn of events coming out of Minnesota. The wild have decided to buyout not only Zach Parice but Ryan Suter aswell.
If you’ll remember, both Parise and Suter signed massive 13-year $98,000,000 contracts at the same time back in 2012, both of which carry a $7,538,461 cap hit. The deals both started out well but as most predicted would happen, they have aged pretty poorly.
With new exciting talent such as Calder trophy winning Kirill Kaprizov, the Wild have decided it’s time to invest in a new generation of players and move on from the Suter/Parise era.
Per the athletic:
The Wild will pay each $6.7 million over the next eight years and be charged with $2.371 million, $6.371 million and $7.371 million cap hits in the next four years, respectively, for each, then $833,333 cap hits the four years after that for each.
Both players will become free agents on July 28th.
