Leafs Place Forward Jimmy Vesey On Waivers

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday afternoon that they have placed struggling winger Jimmy Vesey on Waivers.

Vesey who signed a one year deal in the off season with the Leafs in hopes of regaining his prior form has had a tough time this season with only 7 points in 30 games. Fans have been calling for Jimmy Vesey to sit for some time now and it looks like they are getting what they wish.

Kyle Dubas said he placed Jimmy Vesey on waivers because Leafs backup goalie Jack Campbell is coming off of LTIR and they needed more flexibility on their roster. Here are his full comments:

“One of the things we’re looking to do is to increase our flexibility on the roster, but also as Campbell gets closer to return and Simmonds is closer to return, we do have to do some juggling with the cap situation.”

With Wayne Simmonds close to returning it is likely that you won’t see Vesey suit up for the Leafs again anytime soon.
