Leafs Acquire Goalie Veini Vehvilainen From The Blue Jackets
It’s just been announced that the Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired goalie Veini Vehvilainen from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defenseman Mikko Lehtonen.
The Leafs have been looking to add some more depth at the goalie position after losing Aaron Dell to waivers a few months ago and it looks like they finally found it with Veini Vehvilainen.
Mikko Lehtonen will be going the other way to the Blue Jackets, Lehtonen a KHL all-star had a rough time cracking the Leafs lineup due to no fault of his own as Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe stated.

Veini Vehvilainen has only played one NHL game this season and it did not go well for him as he currently has a .750 save percentage. He will likely be assigned to the Toronto Marlies.
Columbus was among the NHL teams who pursued Mikko Lehtonen when he was a free agent last year and will look to get him in their lineup as soon as possible.
