Kyle Palmieri Likely On The Move Ahead of Trade Deadline
It seems that the New Jersey Devils and forward Kyle Palmieri could not reach a deal on a new contract and as such, the team is keeping him out of games as a percautuion for the foreseeable future while they work on moving him.
The 30 year old forward has played 397 career games with the Devils and in that time has 266 points. Palmieri is in the final year of his five year deal with the Devils that carries a cap hit of $4,650,000.
Kyle Palmieri does have a modified no trade clause so wherever the Devils are looking to send him, he will have to be involved in that process.
As we previously reported the Islanders have been one of the more vocal teams when it comes to acquiring Kyle Palmieri, they now have the cap space to fit him with their Captain Anders Lee on LTIR and GM Lou Lamoriello is very familiar with the player.
The clock is ticking with only about one week to go till the NHL trade deadline on April 12th, Devils GM Ray Shero has a busy week ahead of him.
Can confirm that Kyle Palmieri is being held out of Devils lineup today in anticipation of a trade in the coming days or week(s).
