Is Tyler Myers possibly on his way to Toronto?

According to Sens writer Bruce Garrioch, it’s believed that the Toronto Maple Leafs have shown interest in Canucks defenceman Tyler Myers. There’s no doubt that the Leafs could use another man on their blue line, as T.J Brodie and Jake Muzzin have recently gone down with respective injuries.

The Canuck has tallied up 4 points so far this season while putting up weak defensive numbers. The 32-year-old’s contract expires after the conclusion of the 2024 season. Additionally, his deal carries a hefty AAV of $6M and a Modified No-Trade Clause.

While Bruce Garrioch mentions that there’s some interest there, Myers’ play, along with his contract are two reasons why a trade to send the defenceman to Toronto is unlikely to happen.
