Is Jakob Chychrun Toronto bound?

It’s no secret that Jakob Chychrun wants out of Arizona. It seems as if the Coyotes are ready to grant his wish, as long as a team is ready to pay a high price for the young defenceman.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Toronto Maple Leafs have a strong interest in the 24-year-old.

Signed through the 24-25 season at $4.6M per, Chychrun would certainly be a huge addition to the Leafs’ blue line, which has seen many injuries recently.

While Jakob is a great young defenceman, who hasn’t even hit his prime yet, GM Kyle Dubas seems to have concerns about his ability to stay healthy, which may be the reason a trade will have to wait.

He has not gotten NHL action since March 12th, when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury. Additionally, a wrist injury that occurred in training camp has kept him out of the Arizona lineup this season.
