As we continue to get closer to the NHL trade deadline more deals continue to get done.
Saturday Afternoon the Florida Panthers acquired Defenseman Brandon Montour from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a 3rd round pick.
The Panthers have been active in the market for a blueliner once they learned captain Aaron Ekblad would be out for 12 weeks with his injury and felt Montour best suited their needs.
In 38 games with the Buffalo Sabres the 26 year old blueliner has 5 goals, 9 assists for 14 points. He has been one of the bright spots in what has been a pretty dark season for the Sabres.
Montour when reached out to via text seems to be very excited, here’s what he had to say:
“Fresh start. Super excited to finish off strong!”
