Edmonton Oilers and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Agree to Extension

Edmonton Oilers fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

It seems now that the Edmonton Oilers and pending UFA Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have reached an agreement on a brand new long term extension.

The deal is reported to be 8 years at about $5,000,000 per year, an excellent value for the Oilers. The deal is expected to include a full NMC.

The 28-year-old winger has played all 10 years of his NHL career for the Edmonton Oilers totaling 478 points in 656 games, very impressive numbers.

The Oilers still have lots of off-season work to do. They must sort out their goalie situation and figure out what they are going to do with Tyson Barrie. But, the Ryan Nugent-Hopkins extension is done and both sides are thrilled about it.
