Seemingly out of nowhere Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that the Chicago Blackhawks have completed a trade with Pittsburgh Penguins.
The trade will see Alex Nylander head to the Penguins and Sam Lafferty formerly of the Penguins head over to the Chicago Blackhawks.
NEW: Blackhawks have traded Alex Nylander to Pittsburgh for Sam Lafferty.
Lafferty, 26, had 6 points in 34 games for the Pens last season. He's had trouble cracking the lineup this year: 2 points in 10 games. He hits a lot.
And with that, the Nylander Era ends with a whimper.

Sam Lafferty is a 26 year old former 4th round pick and has only managed 2 points in the 10 games he has played with the penguins this season, his best season was in the 2019-20 season when he put together 13 points in 50 games.
Alex Nylander, brother of William Nylander is a 23 year old winger who has 12 points in 23 games with his AHL club, the Rockford IceHogs. In the 2019-20 season he put together an impressive 26 points in 65 games.
