With Jeff Gorton as the new face of hockey decisions for the Montreal Canadiens, chances are we are going to see the Habs enter a rebuild.
What better way to kick off a rebuild than moving your $10m goaltender for prospects and draft capital?
The line of teams interested in Carey Price would certainly not be a short one.
Sportsnet Insider Elliotte Friedman had this to say recently:
rumours that will be coming out of Montreal the next little while aside from who the next GM will be is which players are getting moved out...
…I do think we could be headed to a big time change of direction from them
Another notable insider, Pierre Lebron of TSN said the following:
“Where does a 34-yr old future HOFer fit in a plan of a rebuild if that’s what Jeff Gorton plans to do, there are teams around the league, some contenders, I can tell you already that are intrigued to find out where that all goes”
Apart from moving Carey Price, Gorton is likely to want to undo some of the long term deals handed out by his predecessor. Most notably Josh Anderson.
Interesting times for the Montreal Canadiens, who appear to be headed for a complete overhaul.
