The Canucks season did not go as planned and Canucks GM Jim Benning has been very active early into the off-season looking to bolster his teams chances for next year.
Recently on an edition of Saturday Headlines on sportsnet, insider Elliotte Friedman says he has confirmed that the Arizona Coyotes are indeed looking to trade 29 year old defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson this summer.
Friedman on Headlines reports Coyotes are working on an Oliver Ekman-Larsson trade.
It will be a different approach this time, Coyotes will go out into the market then come back to OEL with a deal and see if he’s comfortable with it. #Yotes

We are being told that Jim Benning is among the list of General Managers that have contacted the Coyotes looking to make a deal involving Oliver Ekman-Larsson. He will definitely be trying to get the Coyotes retain a portion of OEL’s $8,250,000 cap hit as well.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson is an outstanding offensive defenseman with multiple 40 point seasons. Although his recent body of work hasn’t been great, it looks like a fresh start could get him going.
This will be something to keep your eyes on as it is in the early stages.
