Calgary Flames Acquire Tyler Toffoli From Habs

Things are heating up around the league as we pass the midway point of the season, teams are looking to fortify their rosters before the trade deadline and the Calgary Flames have done just that.

It was announced Monday afternoon that the Calgary Flames have acquired forward Tyler Toffoli from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 1st and 5th round pick, Emil Heineman and Tyler Pitlick. The prospect has not been named at this time.

Tyler Toffoli is in year 2 of a 4-year deal he signed with the Canadiens which carries a $4,250,000 cap hit.

In 37 games with the struggling habs, the 29-year-old winger has managed 26 points in 37 games so far this season.
