That didn’t take long!
Just two weeks after former Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford resigned, it appears the Penguins have found their next GM.
Ron Hextall has been named the next GM of the Penguins club and Brian Burke has been named President of Hockey Operations.
Hextall met with the Penguins for the second time in recent days and was officially offered the job, which he accepted.
The Penguins have named Ron Hextall as general manager and Brian Burke as president of hockey operations.

Ron Hextall was previously the General Manager of the Philadelphia Flyers from May 7, 2014 – November 26, 2018. Until recently, he was an advisor in the Hockey Operations department for the Kings.
The move makes sense, Hextall has roots in Pittsburgh. Ron’s Father Bryan spent five years with the Penguins & Ron lived in Pittsburgh until he was 10 years old.
Have to admit, it is pretty funny that Hextall who was was once the General Manager of Pittsburgh Penguins arch enemy, the Philadelphia Flyers, is now switching his allegiances to the Pittsburgh Penguins side.
