Artemi Panarin has had a hot start to the season with the New York Rangers posting 13 points in just 14 games. But now it appears the New York Rangers will be without their star winger for an undisclosed amount of time. Panarin will be taking a leave of absence from the team.
It appears Panarin leaving the team is in relation to reports out of Russia in which Former KHL coach & NHL player Andrei Nazarov alleges Panarin beat up an 18-year-old girl in a Russian bar years ago.
According to @NYR_Brooksie Retribution against Panarin was feared for him supporting Alexi Navalny who is a political opponent of Vladimir Putin.
The New York Rangers and Artemi Panarin have denied all allegations.
