No one saw this one coming.
According to TSN insider Darren Dreger, the Columbus Blue Jackets are planning to Max Domi off their protected list for the upcoming NHL expansion draft.
Domi who is in the final year of his 2-year deal signed with the blue jackets which carries a $5,300,000 cap hit had a very lackluster season last year playing under John Tortorella.
He often found himself on the fourth line and only had 24 points in 54 games.
Teams are putting the finishing touches on their protected lists. Hearing CBJ are planning on leaving Max Domi unprotected. I would be surprised if Seattle doesn’t claim him.

It’s hard to believe that the 26-year-old former 70 point scoring center will not be a member of the Seattle Kraken following the expansion draft on July 21st.
