Arizona Coyotes Listening to Offers on Conor Garland
Conor Garland is one of the great underrated talents in the NHL that not many people know about due to the market he plays in. He has quietly put together a terrific season with the Arizona Coyotes with 25 points in just 30 games.
Garland is in the final year of his deal that has a measly $775,000 cap hit and is set to become a RFA at the conclusion of this season. Teams have been calling the Coyotes about Garland and according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, if the price is right they might consider it. Here’s what he had to say:
“…he’s a restricted free agent with arbitration rights after this season, I’m hearing Arizona has been asked about him & It’s not something I think they really want to do but if the offer is big enough that it allows them to re-stock I think they are going to at least consider it.”
You’ll note that the Arizona Coyotes had to forfeit a couple of their draft picks for violating the NHL’s combine testing policy not too long ago. This would be a great opportunity for them to get some of those back, and more.
By no means will this happen, but there is now validated reports that the Coyotes are at least entertaining offers for their star forward.
